IBS User Forum – Harry Moser on Reshoring

During our User Forum for quality management software customers in September 2011, we invited Harry Moser – founder and president of the Reshoring Initiative – to come and give a keynote presentation on reshoring.

The Reshoring Initiative Mission:
The mission of the Reshoring Initiative is to bring good, well-paying manufacturing jobs back to the United States by assisting companies to more accurately assess their total cost of offshoring, and shift collective thinking from offshoring is cheaper to local reduces the total cost of ownership.

• Met with President Obama and participated in White House Insourcing Forum 2012.
• Works closely with the Commerce Department
  – Worked closely with The Commerce Dept. to develop their ACE Tool Helps U.S. Businesses Fully Assess the Advantages of Manufacturing and Sourcing In America 2013.
  – Helped to strengthen skilled workforce recruitment on Labor Department website and is on a skilled workforce project of the National Academy of Science.
• Motivated one House budget item on reshoring.
• Testified to Congress on reshoring in 2012.
• Industry Week’s Hall of Fame 2010
• Mr. Moser writes and speaks nationally to attract more of America’s youth into the manufacturing trades, on how to compete successfully with S.E. Asian manufacturing and on the U.S. economy, tax policy and trade.
• Published many times in National/International print and web / appeared on national broadcast.
• Available as a source on reshoring, manufacturing and skilled workforce.
